Chicken Noodle Lunch Benefit

Many friends and family will be working together on Friday, May 14th (with lots of preparation prior) as we host a Chicken Noodle Lunch Benefit as a way to help raise money for our adoption. The meal will consist of Homemade Chicken Noodles, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Roll & Dessert. The cost is $6.00 with all proceeds to go towards the cost of the adoption process. We will be working diligently to prepare and deliver these lunches for all who which to take part. We will be doing this in Lucasville and if anyone works in an local office/school/business and think that lunch orders are a possibility, please let us know. We currently have a couple of schools as well as local banks and businesses who wish to order.
For our Jackson, Ohio crew we will be doing a similar thing quite possibly in July for local businesses. As time nears, we will be posting!
Thanks to everyone in advance for all the help and to those who wish to participate.
Much love,
Missy & Josh

The Decision...our beginning!

On April 5th we were contacted by New Life Link that we were approved to adopt our interest of a little boy from Haiti ranging in ages 8-11 through their orphanage. Josh and I were excited yet at the same time that really put everything out on the table for us to make the 'final' decision and ask ourselves....are we truly ready for this? After lots of thinking and praying, we took the plunge to begin the stages of this adoption. Therefore, on April 13th we heard back from Adoption Circle in Columbus (Pam) on taking the first step towards making this wish come true...our home study. On April 21st we received our home study packet and are in the process of getting that taken care of in preparation for our visit by the licensed social worker.

This decision has been in the works for many months now and with having friends that have adopted from Haiti twice already, it's made our decision a little easier. Post-earthquake, our interest was peaked a little more but we still wasn't sure we were ready for that final commitment. However, weeks past and the interest heightened, we brought it up to some of our family, the support was astounding!

Having said that, on Tuesday night April 20th, a decision was made and well....here we are....WE ARE READY! This is what we want and we couldn't be any happier. Although the process is long, we are eager to begin this journey together, not just with each other but with the support of our loved ones as well. There is no doubt in our minds that with all the love, support and devotion we are receiving that this process will be a real treat regardless how long it takes. As we patiently journey through this adoption, we hope that you will follow along and post as you wish so that our little boy will have something to cherish from our side of our journey to Haiti to build a family.

Thank you, God Bless and Enjoy!
Missy
